Swinburne University Selects EON Reality for Virtual Prototyping

The EON team is happy to announce that Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, has selected a turn-key solution from EON Reality for virtual prototyping and 3D visualization. The complete solution consists of the EON Icatcher, a PC-based system offering interactive 3D stereoscopic visualization on large immersive displays, a motion tracking system for ergonomics analysis, and the software suites EON Creator and EON Professional.  The system will be used for several projects, including the  ‘Electric Vehicle Research Group’ as well as the ‘Centre for Ageing: Assistive Technologies’, a centre that focuses on the research and development of assistive products and technologies to assist with needs of the elderly, those with disabilities, and their caretakers to maintain independence.

“At Swinburne University of Technology we are always looking for innovative solutions that can maximize the student learning experience and enhance our R&D activities. Virtual prototyping and interactive 3D solutions offers great flexibility in how digital models can be evaluated and reviewed during the product development process,” said Ambarish Kulkarni, Research Associate at Electric Vehicle Group and Centre for Ageing: Assistive Technologies, Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.  “After a review of existing interactive 3D technologies we selected EON Reality, as they could provide us with a complete solution that includes an interactive 3D display system, a complete software suite, and free online access to a library of interactive 3D models,” concluded Kulkarni.

“We are proud to have been selected by such an accomplished university as Swinburne,” said  Pontus Appelqvist, VP Sales Asia at EON Reality. “We will look forward to see the system in use during the upcoming Swinburne Open Day at the Hawthorn campus on August 19,” concluded Appelqvist.
