EON Reality, USAID Announce Partnership to Bring Interactive Digital Center to Morocco

Featuring both local and international participants to establish a world-class AVR hub providing technological access for the region

Rabat, May 10, 2019 – EON Reality, the world leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge transfer, together with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has organized the launching ceremony of the first Interactive Digital Center (IDC) in Morocco, on Friday May 10, 5:00pm at the Sofitel – Jardin des Roses in Rabat.

Located on Mohammed VI Polytechnic University’s campus in Ben Guerir, the new IDC will provide Augmented and Virtual Reality (AVR) technology, solutions, and products to Morocco’s growing digital transformation of the academic, industrial, and government sectors.

In addition to USAID, EON Reality has teamed up with organizations such as Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Agency for Digital Development, Mohammed V University in Rabat, the Moroccan Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy, and the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research to make the IDC a reality. Together, the seven partners will help to shape Morocco’s technological revolution as they share AVR solutions to transform education and training in Morocco.

“This amazing center for Augmented and Virtual Reality (AVR) will be one of the first pillars of the future of education in Morocco as it will train the next generation of AVR professionals. In collaboration with local professors and professionals, the IDC will also design and adapt 3D solutions to be taught at universities, at vocational training schools and at the workplace. This will ensure knowledge transfer in several areas of digital education.”

Chargée d’Affaires Stephanie Miley

Aside from the hardware and technology available at the IDC itself, the spread of the AVR Platform across Morocco will help to train the next generation of AVR professionals. Through a close collaboration with professors and academic experts, the IDC will also design and adapt AVR learning applications and solutions for universities and various vocational training centers.

“This is one of the largest collaborations we’ve ever been a part of, and I am excited to share our AVR technology with Morocco. Making high-end AVR technology accessible for students, entrepreneurs, and governments all over the world has always been the goal of EON Reality, and this is a huge step in the right direction.”
Mats Johansson, President of EON Reality
