Since the southeast is a hub of automotive and aviation industry, CA2VES emphasizes in creating advanced curriculum delivery technologies, evaluating existing instructional material, and assessing teaching practices and workplace preparedness for the modern automotive and aviation industry.

CA2VES will create a regional community of scholars among research universities, community colleges, K-12 educators and industry to implement the next generation of aviation and automotive manufacturing technology curricula.

The CA2VES project objectives are:

  • To create a CA2VES Virtual E-School by expanding automotive/aviation technician education programs at technical colleges via innovative and cost-effective E-learning options to support the automotive/aviation curriculum. The focus is to develop/deliver E-learning modules with virtual reality or similar high-level visualization/simulation tools for automotive/aviation fields for region-wide implementation/evaluation.
  • To increase access to support recruitment and learning for automotive and aviation students through this SC- automotive/aviation network.
  • To advance the long-term sustainability of CA2VES in the region.

“A key goal of this project is to make content and interactive modules available to students …anytime and from anywhere.  The use of visualization and simulation technologies was critical in achieving this goal.  The virtual hands on experience made it cost effective and practical – it would not have been possible without it,” said Frank Botdorf, Director of East Coast Business Development, EON Reality, Inc.
