Lehman College of the City University of New York (CUNY), the largest urban public higher education system in the United States, has partnered with EON Reality to establish a Virtual and Augmented Reality Training Academy and Development Lab. The Academy and Lab are conveniently located at CUNY on the Concourse, part of Lehman College’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. The Academy will support the training of CUNY students and New York City residents to become Virtual and Augmented Reality professionals as well support the development of VR and AR applications to assist in teaching CUNY and Lehman students.
The school teaches the skills needed to be successful in creating Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality content and applications for industry, education, and training. These skills will also enable students to work with product visualization, game creation, multimedia design, and broadcast media.
Students receive 3 months of theory which includes AR and VR content creation, professional workflows, and project management across the entire AR and VR ecosystem. Thereafter 7 months of project training will follow, when students will develop their entrepreneurial skills through supervised project based learning on real customer projects. At the end of the course, students will have a robust portfolio of work showing off their projects.
