The EON Reality-Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Future of Education Global Summit in Singapore brought out a who’s who of the academic world. The two-day event featured keynote speeches, presentations, and discussions with global academic leaders all centered around the topic of how technology is changing the world of education. Representatives from esteemed organizations such as NTU, National Institute of Education, Macquarie University, Beijing Normal University, SkillsFuture Singapore, and Asian Scientist Magazine shared their visions of the classrooms of the future as well as how Augmented and Virtual Reality (AVR) technology can play a role in creating active and collaborative learning environments going forward.
Bringing together some of the brightest minds in all of education has always been a goal of EON Reality, and with this Summit, we were finally able to achieve that on a global level,” said Dan Lejerskar, Founder of EON Reality. “Seeing university presidents, professors, and many others come together to recognize and embrace Augmented and Virtual Reality as the future of education validated what EON Reality has believed in for quite some time. The event was nothing short of a complete success.
In addition to the presentations and discussions, EON Reality also allowed the visitors to try out the latest AVR technology both through hands-on workshops as well as independent networking and exploratory time. Each of the AVR Platform’s primary components were on full display, showing how Augmented and Virtual Reality solutions can assist in classrooms and universities at any scale.
Much of the discussion at the inaugural event was about how quickly technology is transforming everyday learning environments into the interactive Classroom 3.0 model. As one of the first locations in the world to adopt the use of AVR technology for academic purposes, NTU served as the perfect backdrop for the discussions about how best to future-proof education both for teachers and students.
We are glad to initiate this interesting project with EON Reality and the very engaging partnership,” said Professor Ling San, Provost and Vice President (Academic) of NTU. “The NTU-EON Reality Future of Education Global Summit represents the shared commitment between NTU and EON Reality to create effective learning solutions for the next generation and this summit was an important first towards articulating the vision of this future.
