EON Reality creates 15 new jobs at its European HQ in Manchester

July 18, 2014 | North West FYI

EON Reality, the world’s leading interactive 3D software provider, has created 15 new jobs at their European headquarters in Manchester.  All eleven men and four women are graduates from the company’s VR (Virtual Reality) Innovation Academy based in Central Park, east Manchester.

Having completed the year-long part-time 3D content creation course, funded by EON Reality, the students have qualified as either 3D developers, 3D artists or 2D creative.

Ken Swain, EON Reality’s Managing Director in the UK said: “We’re really pleased to recruit these talented young people. They have worked extremely hard over the past year and shown a real passion for 3D content production. Last year’s recruits have just come back from Brazil and these graduates will get the chance to work on some equally exciting projects with global brands in the fields of education, business and entertainment. We are committed to training and recruiting local young people and look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students to our VR Innovation Academy in September.”

The free, part-time course has 100 places for talented students aged eighteen years and above, interested in a career in 3D content creation. Anyone who is interested in being a 3D Artist, Developer or 2D Creative and can demonstrate a basic understanding of 3D and digital media technologies can apply.

Based at EON Reality’s European headquarters in Newton Heath, the course includes 3D modelling, design and development and coding. Students work alongside EON Reality’s 3D modellers and coders on live projects. Each year one trainee is awarded an internship in California or Singapore.

EON Reality’s VR Innovation Academy training and support manager, Marcin Kasica said: “This is a unique opportunity for young people with an interest in 3D to learn about 3D content creation from some of the industry’s top experts.  We fly tutors in from all over the world to teach the students face-to-face in Manchester. Those thinking of a working in graphic design, architecture or CAD design might want to consider this as an alternative choice.  The 3D graphics sector is constantly evolving so offers an exciting and stimulating career.  All we ask for is a passion to learn about 3D and a basic understanding of the technology.  As we employ half the cohort each year, this is a course with excellent career prospects. We look forward to meeting potential students at the next open day.”

The course starts on 1st September 2014.
