    What is EON Experience Fest?

    EON Experience Fest is an annual showcase of the newest technologies and innovations in interactive 3D and Virtual Reality.

    Industry heavy weights, 3D experts, VR gurus, researchers, and academic authorities from around the world will guide you through two exciting days of in-depth presentations and hands-on VR experiences to demonstrate the power of one of the world’s most exciting emerging technologies.

    Frederik Strang
    Mr. Fredrik Sträng has climbed six 8000-m mountains and led & participated twelve 8000-m expeditions.  He has set the Guinness World Record for climbing “7 Summits – the highest mountain on each continent” and first Swedish to do so. As a member of the Explorers Club, Sträng has made 3 documentaries including TV4 and SVT (Fredrik Sträng and the mystery of Everest, 7 Summits, A Cry from the Top of the World) and has appeared in several other national and international documentaries including award-winning “The Summit”.  He is currently the CEO for Solair Quest AB – around the world in a solar powered airship (www.solairquest.com).

    Susan is the Creative Media Champion for the City of Manchester responsible for creating and delivery strategic opportunities for the City to grow its digital and creative sector. She created, built and is the Director of The Sharp Project the cities new home for the digital and creative sector. Her career began as a newspaper journalist working in Liverpool then Fleet Street. She then moved into television and worked for ITV, the BBC, and Channel 4.

    Mr. Cheben has an established career spanning more than 30 years working at ExxonMobil, the worldEUR(TM)s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company, and has been responsible for a wide variety of assignments covering plant operations, safety training, technology research, and project development.  He received both his bachelorEUR(TM)s and masterEUR(TM)s degree in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College, New York in 1975 and 1976, respectively, as well as his Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston, Texas in 1982.

    Award winning, Producer, Writer, Director and technical innovator, who is a Hollywood industry leader in high definition/digital CGI and 3D production. Mr. Pierre De Lespinois has received fourteen Emmy nominations and four Emmys for Directing and Producing including EURoeWhen Dinosaurs Roamed AmericaEUR and EURoeDinosaur PlanetEUR. President of Evergreen Films Inc., an international leader in 3D technology development and innovation. His production group has created thousands of digital effects shots for movies such as: “Fantastic Four”, “Final Destination”, “300”,”Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D”.
    Eric Grundemann
    Eric Gruendemann presently acts as Co-Founder and President of Vision 3 Experiential, LLC, a creative, strategic and managerial company established to develop emerging EUR~edutainmentEUR(TM) content, technologies and theme parks worldwide. Prior to that, Eric spent nearly thirty years in the film and television industry. His credits range from the recent low-budget global cult film sensation, Bitch Slap; to numerous television pilots including Dungeons & Dragons/Eldritch for ABC Family, Heart of Stone for Fox, Changeling for UPN, Treasure Island for CBS, The Stain for Comedy Central, Left Behind for PAX, Cirque for Spelling Television and Creature Quest for Discovery Networks International; to acting as Managing Director of Pacific Renaissance Pictures and Co-Executive Producer of the Universal Television mega-hits Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess.  His other credits include Cleopatra 2525, Jack of All Trades, Young Hercules, Army of Darkness, Darkman, Iron WillHard TargetTorch Song Trilogy, Mom & Dad Save The World and The Blob.  He is also an Eagle Scout and makes great Belgian Waffles.

    Seán is a Project Assistant for WorldSkills Foundation, the education, advocacy and research arm of WorldSkills International. WorldSkills is a not-for-profit organisation currently comprising 67 member countries and regions, with the shared focus of promoting vocational education, training and high-level skills initiatives across the world.

    Seán holds a first class honors degree in Visual Communication from the National College of Art & Design in Dublin (2005), and a Masters degree in Interactive Digital Media from Trinity College Dublin (2010).

    Mike Harper | zSpace
    Mike has more than 20 years of successful experience in general management, sales, marketing and corporate development with both start-ups and large public companies delivering high technology products and services. Prior to zSpace, Mike operated his own consulting company, Pathway for Success, LLC., focused on executive and strategy services. Mike has held executive positions as CEO, President and CMO with innovators including Fortisphere, Syfact, BNX Systems and USinternetworking, Inc. (USi), where he was instrumental in building USi from a start-up to the ASP market leader, growing the annual revenue in his business unit from zero to approximately $120 million. Earlier in his career he held leadership positions at Silicon Graphics and IBM.
    Roy Schneider is the director of Medical & Biological Illustration at the University of Toledo Health Science Campus, (UTHSC). He earned a Bachelor of ArtEUR(TM)s degree from the University of Toledo and a Masters of Fine Art /Medical Illustration from the University of Michigan. Roy has been employed at The University of Toledo Health Science Campus for 35 years and has extensive experience in developing visualization concepts as they apply to the advancement of medical education. He is an active member of the Association of Medical Illustrators and in 2000 received the International Dr. Frank Netter Award for his original concept and design of the work titled, Anatomy Revealed. RoyEUR(TM)s additional work includes 3 editions of a medical text book titled EURoePositioning in Anesthesia and SurgeryEUR and has contributed numerous illustrations to 4 other text books, cover designs for Journal of Neurosugery and created over twenty five hundred illustrations for the Department of Orthopaedics at UTHSC. Current work involves the design and creation of surgical simulation training models and production of educational software. Roy is a partner and owner of a small company which is developing instructional software for primary and secondary education. Prodissector Frog is a virtual dissection lab for supplementing the study of science as it relates to Frog anatomy and Physiology. The product has been well received in Europe and is currently used in over 50 different countries. Roy also is a freelance Medical Legal Illustrator and has worked with over 20 Law Firms in the Toledo and Cleveland areas. He has recently been appointed as a Board Member of the Vesalius Trust, Association of Medical Illustrators.

    Pamela J. Boyers, Ph.D. is the Senior Advisor to the Chancellor for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education and Executive Director of the Center for Clinical Simulation, and is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Toledo (UT). Dr. Boyers is responsible for the strategic development of the new University of Toledo Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center. Prior to her appointment at UT, she was the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Executive Director and Chief Academic Officer, for the Center of Medical Education and Innovation TM, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus Ohio and she was Director, Medical Humanities Program, and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at The Ohio State University, College of Medicine. Dr. Boyers was born in England where she completed her undergraduate education and became a registered nurse. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling & Education from The Ohio State University, College of Medicine.

    Bernard, a stereographer and digital cinema expert with 15+ years of experience, is the author of the bestselling reference textbooks EURoe3D Movie MakingEUR and EURoe3DTV and 3D CinemaEUR. His credits as feature animation stereographer include EURoeMeet The RobinsonsEUR (Disney) and EURoeMonster vs AliensEUR (Dreamworks). Recognized authority on stereoscopic storytelling, 3D live and CG production, post-production and projection, Bernard Mendiburu gave numerous presentations at the SPIE Stereoscopic Display and Applications, NAB’s Digital Cinema Summit, IBC’s 3D Content Creation Day, and Tokyo International 3D Fair. His lectures and workshops on 3D cinema were selected by Laïka, CalArt, Technicolor, CanalPlus, BizEx3D and Dimension3 Expo. His articles were published in the SMPTE journal and as chapters in peer-reviewed books. In 2010, Bernard Mendiburu joined Volfoni, the European leader in 3D cinema systems. As VP Innovation he brought his field experience to the design of the world’s best visualization tools for 3D content creation and presentation. Volfoni is the world’s only company offering both active and passive 3D systems approved for theatrical exhibition. Its technologies includes Universal 3D glasses, Hybrid passive/actives 3D lenses, multi-protocol 3D sync bridges, and Full HFR systems.

    Professor Daniel David is the Founding Head of Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, at Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Since 2008 he is an Adjunct Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Department of Oncological Sciences, New-York,USA. From early 2013 he was appointed as the Director of Research at the prestigious “Albert Ellis Institute” in New York.

    Tracey Winey is the Media Specialist and STEM Integration Specialist at Preston Middle School.  Tracey has been named the Fort Collins Teacher of the month, a SMART 11 Certified Instructor, a SMART Exemplary Educator, a SMART Concept Design Trainer, and a Google Certified Teacher.  She has presented at the local, state, and national level at National Science Teachers Association, Technology in Education, ISTE, and National Network for Educational Renewal.  Tracey has been published by SMART EdCompass and Middle Ground.
    George Dekermenjian began his work as an educator as a high school mathematics teacher. He has also served as a high school department chairperson for mathematics. He is an avid user of technology and a strong proponent of using technologies that enhance or supplement instructional value. In the Fall of 2010, he was invited to join the mathematics department at Los Angeles City College as a full-time assistant professor. George also consults school math departments at all levels on areas of curriculum development, standards alignment, teacher training, and instructional technologies.
    Brendan Reilly is the Business Development Manager at EON Reality for the United States (Western region) and Canada, and is also the Director for EON Reality Sports.  His focus is on expanding EON RealityEUR(TM)s presence in the areas of Energy, Education & Workforce Development, Aerospace, Defense, Sports, Entertainment, and Medical sectors. BrendanEUR(TM)s professional background is rooted in sports and the business of sport having worked as a collegiate basketball coach at Illinois State University.  While at Illinois State he received his MasterEUR(TM)s Degree in Sports Management.   After serving as an assistant at Illinois State he went and worked in the front office with the Kansas City Royals in Major League Baseball before joining EON Reality.

    Edward has 5 years of experience starting, running, and streamlining companies as small as a few people to as large as 7000 employees. Edward has led a real estate development company (Balance Development) to $14 million in annual sales, a Foreclosure listing service (Balance Properties), various hi-tech companies, and was the change agent responsible for improving DirecTV customer fulfillment service level.  Edward coordinates project outsourcing work amongst worldwide IDC consortium members and manages Content Developers, Software Developers and Installers to streamline fully integrated solutions in Augmented Reality to immersive environments. Edward holds a Green Belt in Six Sigma and an MBA in Operations from Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management.

    Eng Tat is the R&D Director at EON Reality Singapore. He is responsible for new technology and product development, including Virtual and Augmented Reality for education and industrial applications. As an Associate Faculty of SIM University, he teaches computer graphics and advanced graphic design. He is also an advisory board member for Horizon Project Singapore 2012, a New Media ConsortiumEUR(TM)s project to identify trends and emerging technologies in Singapore education system. Eng Tat received his PhD (in Electrical and Computer Engineering) at the National University of SingaporeEUR(TM)s Mixed Reality Lab. His research contribution on serious games won the ACM SIGGRAPH Sandbox 2008 2nd Best Paper Award and his research has been showcased at top conferences such as ACM SIGGRAPH and SIGCHI. He was selected as the Dragon 100 Young Chinese Leader in 2011.

    Mr. Swain began his career at Alias|Wavefront in 1995 as Enterprise Service Manager. In 2002 he started his own company, Design Academy Ltd and worked with interactive 3D design, real time 3D simulation based learning, development, and communication. Mr. Swain joined EON Reality in 2011 as a Business Development Director and a year later he became the Managing Director for EON RealityEUR(TM)s European HQ Hub in Manchester, an interactive research and development center.

    Mr. Lejerskar began his career in 1985 at Volvo Aerospace as program manager for the Arianne 5 rocket program for the main engine rocket.  In 1987, he founded PFAB, a construction and real estate company, and he built the company from a two-person operation to over 300 people. Simultaneously (1987-1997), he founded and ran Prosolvia Konsult AB, a start-up company which he built  to over 600 employees, developing it organically and focusing in the area of numerical simulation.  In 1998, he co-founded EON Reality. Lejerskar holds dual Masters of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from Chalmers University, Gothenburg, Sweden.

    Mr. Johansson has over 18 years of experience in 3D Interactive Simulation technologies and is widely recognized as a leading innovator in his respective field. He has been regarded as a subject matter expert and has been the program manager/consultant for many different projects such as Volvo Car engineering analysis, as well as Oil and Gas simulation projects in the North Sea. Mr. Johansson earned a MasterEUR(TM)s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chalmers University and an MBA in International Business Administration from Gothenburg School of Business.
