Cookies and Cookie Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how EON Reality LLC and: EON Reality Ltd, EON Reality Pte Ltd, EON Reality SAS, EON Reality Norway AS, EON Development AB, EON Reality Australia, Tshwane Interactive Digital Centre, EON Reality Mauritius Ltd, and the VR Innovation Academy (VRIA) & global partners (for partners, see here as many partner institutions will also have their own Cookies and Privacy Policies which do not incorporate those of EON Reality and vice versa) and for the purposes of this policy document are collectively referred to herein as “EON Reality”, “we”, “us”, and “ours”, use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our websites at https://www.eonreality.com, http://www2.eonreality.com (“Websites”). The Cookies Policy explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them. In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information. In such cases our Privacy Policy will apply in addition to this Cookie Policy.

What are cookies?

  • Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
  • Session Cookies: These are created temporarily when you visit a website. As soon as the user leaves the site/closes the browser, the session cookie is deleted.
  • Persistent Cookies: These remain on your device and is re-activated when the user visits the website which created the respective persistent cookie. These cookies expire after a certain period (set in the file), or the persistent cookie can be removed manually.

CMS-Managed Content and Cookies

Our websites use a CMS to manage the content on the site. The CMS software suppliers have assured us that all cookies they create on the site are essential and the website will not function correctly if they are blocked or removed. If this changes, the CMS software suppliers will notify us and we will immediately make the necessary changes to this policy and any other affected website and privacy policies, however we cannot be held responsible for any unprecedented and unpreventable issues caused by the CMS supplier. This supplier is committed to data privacy and regularly reviews its use of cookies as well as being committed to identifying and remove any cookie references that become redundant. Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, EON Reality) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.

Why do we use cookies?

We use first and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons for our Websites to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. Other cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Online Properties. Third parties serve cookies through our Websites for advertising, analytics and other purposes. In addition to the ‘What Are Cookies?’ section, you can find further classification of the cookies we use on this website below:

Strictly Necessary cookies
These cookies are essential to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the website.

Performance cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These are cookies which don’t collect information that identify a visitor. These cookies collect information that aggregated and anonymous.

Functionality cookies
These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (for example, the language or the region you are in or for registration sites, your username) to provide an enhanced and sometimes more personal browsing experience. For instance, a website (not EON Reality) may be able to provide you with local traffic news by storing in a cookie the region in which you are currently located. These cookies can also be used to remember accessibility changes you have made, and other parts of web pages you can customise. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for such as watching videos or commenting on a blog. The information these cookies collect will largely be anonymised and they do not track your browsing activity on other websites.

Targeting/advertising/analytics/personalisation cookies
These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of time you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign.

What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?

Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our Websites or opened an e-mail that we have sent them.
This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies and cookie providers to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair or even stop their functioning which gives you another dimension of control over cookies. Here are the pixels we use on our websites. These are tracking pixels which are related to our marketing efforts:

  • Pixel name: tr
  • Who serves these cookies: Facebook, pixel, session, disappears when user closes the browser
  • Pixel provider: eonreality.com

How to refuse: To refuse these cookies, please follow the instructions below under the heading “How can I control cookies? “.

  • Pixel name: ads/ga-audiences
  • Who serves these cookies: Google AdWords, session, disappears when user closes the browser
  • Cookie provider: eonreality.com

How to refuse: To refuse these cookies, please follow the instructions below under the heading “How can I control cookies? “.
