Saudi Aramco and EON Reality announce the Virtual Reality Training System

IRVINE, Calif., October 28, 2009 – EON Reality, the world's leading interactive 3D software provider, is pleased to announce that Aramco has now taken a leadership position to reduce the cost of training and improve the retention of training procedures as well as safety by using a unique Virtual Reality Training System (VRTS). The system is built utilizing the latest simulation-based learning and immersive 3D technology from EON Reality.  At the moment, EON Reality has developed two prioritized applications:

Rock Outcrop Simulation
This is a simulation training environment-based high resolution LDIR data with multiple levels of detail, texture-mapping etc.  The user has the ability to navigate and manipulate the model in 3D interactively as well as measure features on the model.

Vertical Seismic Profile Acquisition
EON Reality and Aramco have also developed an interactive 3D training for Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) acquisition. The application involves a creative way of displaying basic physics and wave propagation through rocks with fully functional equipment used at the facilities on site.
